Nicola is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer. Called to the Bar in Ontario (2015) and the Northwest Territories (2017), she has appeared at all levels of court in both jurisdictions, and at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Nicola practices in criminal defence and regulatory law, with a particular interest in youth justice, impaired driving, and constitutional litigation (including search and seizure). Her academic work has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada (see R. v. Hussein, 2026 SCC 2).

She received her B.A. from the University of Toronto (Honours with High Distinction), her LL.B./B.C.L. from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, and her LL.M. from New York University’s School of Law. In 2014-15, she clerked for the Honourable Justice Clément Gascon of the Supreme Court of Canada.
